Hollywood Cemetery Linocut Print
Hollywood Cemetery Linocut Print
This is an 8X10”(ish) print of the W.W. Pool Mausoleum located in The Hollywood Cemetery of Richmond, VA. Also featured is the Iron Dog statue that guards the grave of a two year old girl.
Legend has it that the mausoleum of W.W. Pool houses the infamous Richmond Vampire.
It is a creature so gruesome- with a complexion of rotting flesh and jagged fangs- and it escaped the Church Hill Train Tunnel collapse of 1925. As the tunnel fell, it trapped and killed minors while the vampire feasted on both the bodies and the chaos. Once the creature had its fill, it ran towards the river, taking safe haven in Hollywood Cemetery at the tomb of W.W. Pool.
The Richmond Vampire resides there to this day, and will likely stay there until it grows hungry again...
This linocut image was carved by hand, and printed using Speedball Oil Based Ink on BFK Rives paper. Titled and signed by the artist in pencil, frame and matte NOT included.
